Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are a method whereby an employee can redirect some of his pre-tax income to a dedicated account that is later used for a specific and approved expense. This saves the employee from having to pay FICA and Social Security taxes on money used for certain expenses.

Premium Only Plan (POP)   Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

The Premium Only Plan allows employees to reduce their compensation by the amount of their contribution to the cost of an allowable benefit program.

 

Flexible Spending Accounts are typically funded from an employee’s contributions by a redirection of their salary.

The Medical Reimbursement Spending Account reimburses an employee for their out of pocket expenses for allowable medical, dental and vision expenses through the plan.

The Dependent Care Reimbursement Spending Account reimburses an employee for certain dependent care expenses.

The Transportation Fringe Benefit Plan reimburses an employee for certain work-related transportation costs.
